Former Finish President and United Nations’ diplomat who played a key role in brokering Namibia’s independence, Martti Ahtisaari and his wife, Eva have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on Tuesday.
This isn’t according for Finland’s Office of the President in a press release on Tuesday.
“His spouse, Mrs. Eeva Ahtisaari, was diagnosed with the same virus three days ago on 21 March. President Ahtisaari is doing well under the circumstances,” the Finish Presidency said.
“We ask the media to respect the privacy of President and Mrs. Ahtisaari, an update will be provided in due course.”
